Dr. Xinyi Dai, a male member of the Communist Party of China, serves as an Associate Chief Physician in the Department of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery at Shanghai Ninth People's Hospital, affiliated with Shanghai Jiao Tong University School of Medicine. He holds a doctorate and postdoctoral experience from Germany and is a Constable Fellow of the American Association of Plastic Surgeons (AAPS), a member of the Tissue Engineering and Regenerative Medicine International Society (TERMIS), and a recipient of Shanghai's 'Pujiang Talent' award.

From 2012 to 2016, Dr. Dai was awarded a national scholarship by the China Scholarship Council to pursue his doctoral studies at the Technical University of Munich (TUM), Germany. He graduated with the highest distinction, 'Summa Cum Laude', earning a Ph.D. in Plastic Surgery and Regenerative Medicine.

In 2014, Dr. Dai was selected through an international competitive process for the AAPS John D. Constable International Travelling Fellowship. He was invited to conduct academic visits at Harvard Medical School's Massachusetts General Hospital, NYU Langone Medical Center, and Johns Hopkins Hospital in the field of plastic and reconstructive surgery.

From 2016 to 2017, Dr. Dai undertook postdoctoral research at the University Medical Center Göttingen, Germany, focusing on the mechanisms and translational applications of scarless wound healing. His representative work was published in NPG Asia Materials, part of the Nature Publishing Group, and was highlighted in Science Translational Medicine.

Dr. Dai contributed to the Science special issue '125 Questions: Exploration and Discovery'. He is the chief editor of a 100,000-word popular science book titled 'The Missing Puzzle: The Fascinating World of Tissue Defect Repair and Regeneration', published by Shanghai Jiao Tong University Press.
